Hunt Construction Group is one of the nation's premier builders in the construction of landmark stadiums and is ranked as the #1 builder of stadiums by Engineering News-Record magazine. Hunt has built more than 20 stadiums ranging from major league to minor league to the collegiate level, with total seating for more than two million spectators. Hunt Construction Group is also known as a company of many firsts. Completed in 1975, the Louisiana Superdome hosted the first indoor Super Bowl, and is the largest steel-span structure in the world, certified by the Guinness Book of World Records. In 1980, the Carrier Dome was the first fabric-domed stadium in the U.S. Chase Field in 1998, became the world's first facility with a retractable roof, a natural grass playing field, and air conditioning. And, in 2006, University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, will become the first stadium in the country that features a retractable roof and a roll-out natural grass field.
Hunt Construction Group has formed a joint venture with two premier builders to meet the need for a world-class, multipurpose, retractable roof stadium in Minneapolis. Kraus-Anderson is the largest provider of construction services to Minnesota and the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro, with headquarters in the shadow of the Metrodome, location of the reconstructed stadium. Hunt Construction Group is the number-one sports facilities builder in the country and the nation's leading retractable roof expert. Turner Construction is the number-two sports facilities builder and the number-two Green Contractor in the country according to Engineering News-Record.
The Kraus-Anderson/Hunt/Turner team is the only team in the country that has the hometown expertise and the actual experience and the financial strength to bond and deliver a world-class, multipurpose, retractable roof stadium - on time and on budget.
- 37 professional stadium projects in the past ten years
- 18 NFL facilities
- 11 stadium reconstructions
- Team's people have built eight of the nine retractable roofs in the U.S.
- Only proposer that is able to bond the performance and payment for this $827 million project
- "Keep it local" and TGB/ED employment track record and commitment
- 224 LEED projects completed or under construction - including the first LEED-certified major league sports stadium
The partners, each with equal voting rights, have agreed to defined roles according to their industry expertise. Each partner also has agreed to an exclusive partnership. Under the terms of that partnership, no individual partner can agree to work or partner with any other entity on this project, now or in the future.
Hunt Construction Group is a member of the International Association of Assembly Managers (IAAM) and is a proud sponsor of the Annual Conference & Trade Show.

Through the last two years, I have witnessed numerous last minute changes and a truly demanding time schedule. In spite of these challenges, Charlie and his staff were hard working, professional, and flexible. This was the major reason we were able to open on time!
